The gladiatorial games
had an important role in almost the wole Roman history. These were in
connection with slavery, the army and even with politics and - through
this - the caesar himmself. The pomp, the shining, the fuss made about
each game were definitely the opposite of the everyday life of the
gladiators, which could not be interpreted better than as a monotonus
and cruel world.
